Legend of Korra Episode 5 Review

Late to the party, work's been really crazy.

Who'd have thought there'd be an entire episode devoted to romantic entanglements (spoken with a disdainful sniff) in a 12-episode season? I might have been disappointed, except the episode has good character and relationship developments, sets up a new antagonist, and also builds up to what will probably

I miss Amon. And B-plots. And all the repression going on in ATLA.

Haha, yes. Amon needs to come back in a big way. I can't say I'm entirely happy with the way the Equalists drop off the radar every two episodes or so, but hopefully they'll reassert themselves as the rightful Masters of the Plot Continuum.

Yup yup, the Chakra theory is awesome, on both an in-world and structural level. I really hope it's borne out by the canon

I'm loving the Chakra theory too and hope it turns out to be true.

I'm not liking the Lin is the other woman theory either, unless perhaps she and Tenzin were on the outs on their own before Pema made her move and just happened to have good timing.

As for Amon looks like he'll be back in full force next episode. His charisma with his followers is starting to remind me a bit of Jet lately. Another guy who started out with good intentions but got warped into becomming a terrortist somewhere along the way. The conflict for next episode has me very intrigued bringing up some post 9/11 themes even.

Finally, it is my headcannon that the historical novel Jinora described is none other than th plot of Love Amongst the Dragons.

I am so looking forward to Amon's next big appearance, and I agree he's probably a well-intentioned extremist like Jet--except scarier.

And yeah, that book should totally be Love Among the Dragons. *snerk* Some fan needs to write that one.
