Yay! I've never signed up before, so I'm all excited about actually getting something. Which, that said, if I don't get anything, I'm okay about that too. It's all good.
There is a text box that you copy, and write your fandoms, likes, dislikes etc. in the box. Then the mods take the box and make a post with it. Most folk then make a journal entry pointing to their stocking. Whether you get anything or not is always up in the air. I think that the mods make sure that everyone gets a little something -- but just in case, I'm not letting myself get too anxious about it.
If you know if anyone else who wants Star Trek fic that's ace/platonic and/or in which sexual relationships are not relevant to the plot, please let me know. I want to increase the number of stories out there with ace characters, and am more than happy to also write some myself for other people. It is ironic that even though I'm ace myself, I still feel odd about writing ace characters. I want to get over that internal block.
I'm sure that there are plenty of people who would enjoy stories with ace characters. I myself prefer stories with minimal sex or even romance -- unless I get in a specific mood to read it. Friendships, honor and comittment within relationships and the testing of bonds are always good for me, though.
