Today was a busy day, starting with taking Jerome to his visitation at the DHS offices in Charlotte (about a 30 min drive away), and then lunch, going to see a couple of apartment complexes. Then off to a check up for me -- yearly physical -- and then to the school district office to get Luke registered for 6th grade ( Read more... )

I find talking it thru a great way to start a story or an outline or an article or a song or general brainstorming -- used to get a lot of mileage out of my tape recorder during commutes and road trips.

Yep. But it was good to get all that done. Tomorrow, Jerome and I will fill out the apartment applications -- oi, I have to write the 30 day notice letter to his old landlord (he still has the apartment, but is afraid to go back 'cause there are some guys after him); I keep forgetting about that letter -- and we have the application from the sheltered work place, too.

Fourteen days 'till I start my new job.

I also called the Marquette DHS guy. He said that he hadn't got to my request yet, but hopes to by the end of the week.

re: talking it through -- I've been thinking about it a lot, but it's just gone in circles. Writing it out made a big difference. I don't really understand it, because the writing is my thoughts, but it really does make a difference.

What can you contribute? Are you kidding? Besides a whole 'nuther set of eyes, you would contribute a piece of soul. Emotion, reaction, the touch of lips. I expect wonders from you because you are fantastic.

Read Grant's story first, and then I'll send my crit. Fresh eyes.

Heh. The reason I'm into shamanism is that I live in a different reality than most folks (though in a less dramatic way that is suggested by that wording :-) ), and I had to learn to step in and out of each reality as needed. That's actually a definition of shamanism in some cultures (or, some cultures' definition of shamanism could be squeezed into that box).

Which totally fits with this story. And gives me an idea. Wow, this story might get written after all.

Thank you!
