Since some time, it seems like archiving comments with LJarchive is not possible anymore due to changes on LJ's side of the source code regarding comments. (Dreamwidth has problems vice versa with importing comments from LJ and currently isn't able to do that.)
What I have found out so far is that you can at least achieve a partial sync, so you can archive your entries from here at least. This is done through the following: Go to Edit -> Journal Settings and in the window, enter as server URL "livejournal.com" with HTTP at the beginning, not HTTPS. You still get an error message, but at the bottom left it says "Partial sync." and if you browse through your archived entries, you'll see that the most recent ones appear in your archive. With HTTPS at the beginning of the URL, somehow it doesn't work completely.
As a comparison: Using the program for archiving the entries and comments of a Dreamwidth account, everything works fine (except for communities).
Thank you so much!! I know it's a lot to ask of an old program to keep up with changes, but I'm so grateful for your advice. I changed the URL and it worked like a charm!
Sigh, yeah, it's a bit of a pain... But until now I still don't know a different program which does this job. And, as one can see, for Dreamwidth it can still work.
Why HTTP works for archiving one's entries and HTTPS doesn't, I have no idea. Only noticed it in practice and found me wondering why, for LJ, I had the HTTP URL version as a server entered in the settings. During playing around with the settings, I found out why. It might be that, before, this setting only worked too.
From my side, through seeing someone else encountering this problem too, I know now it's nothing that has to do with technical stuff on my hard disk! That this is a general issue.

Yes, it's nice to know that there's others having the same problem and not just a Windows thing!
