Не очень красивые стили вообще. Те, что бесплатно делаются в тематических сообществах в разы красивее и круче. Сорри.

I assume the heading image with the skyline cannot be replaced?

Disappointing as I've already purchased this assuming it can, only to fail to find a way to change it, and while looking for help, ended up here. :(

You can replace image using this code:

BODY {
background-image: url(IMAGE URL);
}

Paste it to Custom stylesheet in page http://www.livejournal.com/customize/options.bml?group=customcss

Thank you so much. I've tried various CSS overrides as suggested elsewhere but they didnt work.
I just have to work out was size the jpg needs to be, is there a way to find out?

Original image is 1200x757 pixels, but you can use your size of image because it stretched to the size of the window
