We have some good news! If you log in to LiveJournal using an identity Facebook account or enter LiveJournal via a Facebook link, you will be offered the opportunity to import your public entries from Facebook to LiveJournal.

Another parent company that doesn't understand the point of this site/ its products.

Because then they get to link your LJ identity with your FB identity, which makes your data just a little bit more valuable of course! ;)

You guys, I've been here since 2000 when you had to get an invite to start an account. And I'm more and more baffled by the ups and downs LJ goes through trying to find its feet in this uncomfortable new world of social media. You guys have a niche that no one else was covering, but you're throwing it away to muddle your product down into a mishmash of other networks. You should be striving to be the best at what you are, not 'average' at a dozen things. Which is what you've been doing. And now you're losing journaling and blogging to Tumblr.
