We have a new release - #65. It is now live and on production - if you run into any weird issues in the first few hours today, please comment here!
1. A new LJ Shop design and the addition of LJ Tokens
Tokens will not only be an LJ-specific currency, but will also simplify the process of sending "gift certificates" to friends. You can see this in the newly redesigned
LJ Shop!
There will be more information in the
news post going up shortly!
2. A cleaner design and flow for the homepage modules
Check out
http://www.livejournal.com/. You'll notice that recent comments, friend updates, and stuff like that has all been put into one module on the right side. Also, the "Explore" module has been changed to "Search Journals and Communities". The topic headings that are linked there will change from time to time as trends change.
3. We've made an LJ-specific HTML code to include a "Repost" button in your entry if you would like lots of other people to repost your entry easily, including a link back to your original entry
Please note: at this time, this code only works in the HTML editor and not in RTE. If you write an entry that you want other people to be able to repost easily, you can use the following HTML to create a button for people to repost the entry:
You can also change the text of the button or do some more creative stuff by using these allowed permutations:
some text to repost
some text to...
- As long as the original Repost button is done in HTML, your friends who use RTE will be able to repost
- Yes, Friends-Only entries which contain the Repost button are able to be reposted as public (so don't use the repost button on things you want to keep friends-locked or members-only)
- If you're on the Docs team, we'll need to add this to the FAQ
For example, if you code your entry like this:
It will look like this:
And if your friend clicks on the button to repost, their entry will look like this:
4. Google and Yandex webmaster tools are now able to be used on your LiveJournal account
If you have a Google or Yandex webmaster account, you can enter the meta tag content value provided to you by Google or Yandex
here (Account -> Extensions) (LJSV-954).
5. Assorted bugfixes
- Links in plain text notifications should no longer get split when longer than 75 characters (LJSV-985)
- Text entered inside of an lj-cut in the RTE should now appear in the correct place (LJSV-962)
- Corrected a problem with inaccurate subscription counts in several places (LJSV-670)
