I tried activating this and I keep getting this message in the status bar:
Current status:
Your Google AdSense account application has been submitted and is being reviewed.
It's said this for three hours+. Is this a bug or is my application really being "reviewed"?

If you're creating a new AdSense account, it took about a week for Google to complete mine.

The AdSense feature is interesting, but I'm not sure how many people will be interested in actually signing up, since (it sounds like) you'd need to have a very popular journal to even meet AdSense's own payment threshold, and people might not want to tie an existing AdSense account into whether or not their LiveJournal account is Paid or not.

Other than that, I'm also curious for an update on the (previously announced, potential, hypothetical) release of à la carte userpics. :)

Couldn't find the answer to this in the FAQ: I'm a permanent user and I've managed to put the ads up on my main blog, but I also run a community blog and I'm wondering if I could also put ads up there.

I understand adsense as I have used it before but i am curious as to how it will tally up the views of a page- actually I figure it won't affect the majority of my friends list due to the fact that they generally read my posts from their friends page and rarely enter my journal. Is that included?

My music blog http://algodiferente-beautifulnoise.blogspot.com counts the views to the page and how many clicks per ad.

Only your own journal pages are included; people reading your posts on their friends page won't be seeing your ads. You could possibly combat that by putting most of your entries' content under cuts, so people will click through to the entry page on your journal.
