As someone observed in the comments, the final tallies are so close together that we might as well have a run-off vote. So a run-off vote we shall have:

To relieve the need for a runoff next time (or anytime), run a Condorcet poll. In fact, I'd love to see Condorcet polling available as a general polling option on LiveJournal.

That looks pretty cool! I don't know how easy that can be implemented, but when you have time you might consider mentioning it over in suggestions. That'd have my vote. (...er, pun not intended.)

You're right! There's even free Perl source code available to implement it. I just submitted it to suggestions.

An exact tie - that's even closer than it was last time. It'll be interesting to see where it's at on Sunday. I agree with opyl though, it'd be good to give this second poll just as much time as the first one had.
