Updated Profile Page

We have been working on the profile page since summer (the initiative was first started 2 years ago). It's been a very challenging and enlightening 6 months. After multiple rounds of betas and feedback, we have something we're happy with, and hope you are too. The usability of the page has greatly improved, and the information is easier to take in ( Read more... )

I think if you have no tags etc there is no need for them to be shown, like mine currently is

405 Journal Entries, 0 Tags, 0 Memories, 0 Virtual Gifts, 2 Userpics

I think it looks ridiculous tbh. i would be better to say

405 Journal Entries, 2 Userpics

Also, idk why someone would want to know how many tags i have in the first place. its not vital information so shouldn't be displayed so prominently imo.

Still needs a bit more - or back to the old - but I think I can live with it (but then I don't really care because I don't really use the info page for info? haha).

Since "fixing" the profiles, it's been hit and miss whether I'm even able to connect to LJ or various pages on it, or whether I get error messages when I try to load them.

Also, it's still irritating to have to scroll to the bottom to find someone's AIM/chat usernames.

Hi waterfell,

I'm one of the ops persons and 10:41PM UTC would've been towards the end of when we were doing the code update. Unfortunately it didn't go as smoothly as we planned and we had to restart our web servers 2 times too many. Things are looking good right now, but if you're still having problems feel free to reply directly to me for now. Thanks.

This problem has been ongoing since at least the server move. It's just worse today (possibly the "worse" part now being fixed, if you're right about it). I know this isn't a problem on my end because pretty much all of my LJ friends have said the same each time I've noticed it myself. Why is LJ still focusing on aesthestics (admittedly necessary when the profile is this garbled now) when the site isn't stable? I pay for my account here; I'd like to be able to reliably use it.

Different people do different jobs. The aesthetics team do one thing, Dwell and team do another.

Have you and friends opened Support requests with specifics of your problem? I had issues the day of the move but nothing since, and they've fixed my userpic problems.
