Star Wars VII - The Quest for PeacedaddySeptember 16 2011, 08:41:07 UTC
With the control and fear of the Empire now gone, the worlds in the galaxy resumed self control. For many it was an easy task to return to the ways of the once stable Republic. All the civilized worlds agreeing to rebuild the Senate to help ensure the peace. Before too long though there arose a few sinister characters who attempted to usurp power by means other than honorable

This is the real story behind the partnership between Chewbacca and Han Solo.
Han freed Chewbacca from a forced-labour mining colony while on a smuggling run. He says it was out of the goodness of his heart, but Chewbacca knows that it's because Han needed him to help blast past the guards and escape the authorities that were onto him.
Chewbacca had been sentenced to the colony camp for killing his wife's lover in a jealous rage, and before he was arrested he'd stolen a spaceship and skipped three planets over. In the colony camp Chewy went through an almost stereotypical prison-based spiritual awakening, changes his ways, and became a philosopher. He saw Han as a kindred soul who he could help get onto his own right path, and that's the real reason he escaped with Han.
They then became a great Space Team and went through the galaxy having adventures and getting in trouble.
Write a sequel, a prequel, or anything in-between, Star Warsext_792055September 16 2011, 14:30:32 UTC
I would create a sequel, Resurgence of the Empire, based on the trilogy by Timothy Zahn, with Admiral Thrawn as the antagonist of the New Republic. Thrawn is the only non-human Admiral to serve under the Emperor. One of the main character's future spouses is introduced during the series. Thrawn is almost as cool as Darth Vader in his own way. Hard to give a pitch here without giving away the storyline. Story would take place almost immediately after Return of the Jedi. Thrawn was kept in the outer rim because of his ancestry. There are cloned Jedi popping up, new species introduced, Leia set on the path to becoming a Jedi. Out of all the Star Wars books I've read over the years, best 3 books of the entire series hands down and read them in the early 90's
