We are sorry it has taken so long to address the concerned community members. From reading the recent comments there's a lot of misinformation regarding the two users who were permanently suspended on Friday. I recently made a post on LJ's historical account activity that may put these numbers into a clearer light. LJ's number of active accounts peaked in April 2005 at 2,662,552 users (by the method LJ was using at the time to count active users). It has been decreasing ever since. Go here for more.

I'm currently waiting for this journal to be suspended - having moved all the content over the greatestjournal, obv.

You see, though I'm still not figuring out how LJ Abuse figure that pics of breastfeeding fall under this policy, I have banned icons: babies breastfeeding.

I'm childfree. But I don't see the problem with 100-by-100 pics of babies being breastfed. As my icon tag says, "if it's good enough for God"... ;-)

can i link to this comment in a fresh comment? i think the fact there in fact less than a million vigorously active journals is news to a lot of people. i'd like to see these numbers become common knowledge.

Don't leave out the additional info on the real number of customers pyrop linked to in a response above.

More people are likely to see the first and last pages of comments than anything in the middle, but sure, 'spread it far and wide' means everywhere you can. Don't forget your own LJ and comms you belong to (if it's appropriate to post there).

You might also want to point people to this list of actions we can take *right now* including urging for criminal charges to be pressed against SixApart for their illegal actions.
