Ok, so is the one through your domain self hosted or mapped to an existing domain/registered through Wordpress.com? Because if it's either of the second two you don't have the ability to upload and change themes and plugins as you would if it were a self-hosted blog.

It is my own domain, not mapped to Wordpress at all.

I can code my heart out, but when it comes to using precoded stuff that just needs to be implemented into something... that confuses me, haha.

Have you upgraded to 2.8? Because you can browse and install themes right from the admin area with that.
