I read elsewhere that my 10 GB of data will now be limited to 2 GB. Is that true?

No, storage levels are not being changed as part of this. http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=246 should be accurate with the exception of the part on video formats.

Mark, you may be aware that there's a rumor going around, freaking everyone out, that 1) the storage levels will change from 10GB to 2GB for paid members, and that 2) any pics over the new 2GB limit will be mysteriously lost.

It would be a good idea to make it clear in this helpful FAQ, rather than the comments, that this storage limits will not change. People may not see your response to this in the comments.

We've just added a new 'question' to the FAQ in this and the news post as well that clarifies that storage levels are not changing.

Why can't the tags be exported into the descriptions, or some other textual part of the (new) galleries that can be searched via text? Or will this brand new system still have no use for textual recognition of the graphics, i.e. no way to search the descriptions or titles, and continue to do away with filenames like the old system?

Looks like they'll be saving the tags during migration and adding the interface later: http://ruljautonews.livejournal.com/19142.html

Question: Will there be less size to upload pic? cordykitten April 30 2012, 18:41:46 UTC
Mmmh we'll see. Not sure if that will really be an improvement with no tags.
Seems to me when I hear that that this product isn't finished when it gets to live sidewide.

What about the size of Scrapbook? What are the limits?

There was talk that the new Scrapbookis limited to 2 GB instead of 10 GB now with the old one.

Is that true?

*edit* I've read in the answer of the comment above now that storage levels are not being changed as part of this

LJ is doing it again, forgetting to mention an important part for us users.
Would be better if you add this to the FAQ, it would reassure the users. Thanks!
