I had iTunes on a Mac at my previous work, then when the place folded, I had IT transfer everything onto an external hard drive. Then I hired a geek to move them to my new home PC laptop. Worked fine...

Hmmm. I'll have to ask our Mac guy at work if I can do that.

I seem to recall that I had to tweak some button on the iTunes site which made me confirm I really really really wanted to switch from Mac format to PC format. I said you bet I do, a nd everything shifted. The iPods too, when I plugged them in. I've since gotten a new PC and everything moved over just fine.

We used parallels software ($99) to move husband's desktop from pc to the Mac. He dragged the folder to the Mac desktop, and dragged and dropped into iTunes and it worked. Don't start ripping new cd's!!, you might be able to accomplish something similar with a drag and drop from a portable drive, ask a geek, it IS possible.

Well, I don't have $99 to spend, and I don't have to rip new CDs, I just have to load them onto iTunes. Perhaps I used the wrong terminology. ;)

But thanks! I'll figure this out somehow. :)

Can you borrow a flash drive? Maybe you could drag onto one of those little usb drives, and drag it off.

That's not a bad idea. I might even have one laying around. Thanks!
