Love the astounding range of 'Jack in the Pulpit' plants. It's not something I'm familiar with at all - I've got wild arum in the garden, and presumably it's some kind of relative, though it's maybe just coincidental that they look so similar.
Well, Wikipedia says it's native to Eastern North America, but the purple one is Japanese (it's from the forest garden at the park, where there are handy plaques giving the names of the plants). I've loved them since I was little, mostly because they're one of the first plants in the spring, and so easy to identify. Plus, they're really cool. *g*
