Nice pics--my daughters were in our town's memorial day parade (a small affair, just the school bands and the boy scouts and girl scouts), but for the first time, I wasn't with them--I was with my younger son at a horse show--and we saw those fighter planes fly overhead! (At least, I assume they must have been the same ones...)
I'm sure they were - they fly over all the area parades. They're still flying around. Boy, are they loud! I'm very glad the airport is on the other side of town. :)

Oh, okay, maybe that's why we saw two similar planes this afternoon, as we were driving west on Rt 9 (east of Worcester) going to see HJ... they must have been doing the parade circuit!
Parades are such fun. I'm really sorry we can't go to the Brattleboro cow parade next weekend because we'll be on retreat. Next year we've got to get the retreat on a different weekend if possible; this year it was a case of the only time the site had room for us.
The horsies! The cars! The flyover jets! What a perfect parade you had!
I remember when I was a young Girl Scout, how proud I was to march in Memorial Day parades. I even got to carry the flag once, the height of GS cool... And there was always a picnic after on the grounds of some school or veterans' hall. One felt very American, and in the best way. Good times, good times.
There was a Memorial Day (I think) celebration here in NYC some years back, or maybe it was 4th of July (though I doubt I'd have gone out for that, because of July 3), when all manner of craft came flying up the Hudson River and I went across town to check it out. I really went to see the Stealth bomber, and it was the coolest thing EVER. Came up the river very slow, it seemed, all black and spooky-looking. Loved it.
