April fool's.... not

I'm enjoying all the great April Fool's posts, but I'm feeling too brain dead to come up with anything clever or funny. It's been crazy around these parts lately, what with the staff cutbacks and the spring rush of advertisers, and my creative juices are stagnating this week.

At the place where I freelance frequently, the usual April Fool's Day routine is that one of the permanent employees who stays later at night than the others goes around and makes everyone's computers do something silly when they are turned back on in the morning, such as show all of the graphics in reverse colors, exhibit an odd error message, etc. Yesterday everyone came in at a different time, so it was kind of fun watching each successive person turn on their Mac and say "what the @#&*" and then everyone else tells them how to fix it.

Heh! That reminds me of when the gals in the art department wanted to change the desktop picture of one of the salespeople, but they had to ask me how to do it because the artists all use Macs, but the rest of us use PCs. I'm ambidextrous. ;)
