I just took the first snow plowing ad of the season. I know some of you have already had snow. I'm not ready for winter

Yikes! Where has there been snow already?

This morning I put the heat on so we'd be a little warmer when getting out of bed, as we've done a couple of times since Oct. 1 (and had the heat actually on for a whole day just once or twice). But I've been surprised how a lot of things in the garden (the basil in particular) still haven't succumbed to frost. What's hanging over my head (literally) is leaves -- I think we'll have to start raking seriously within the next week.

They had two feet (!) in Buffalo (and probably at Brushwood, too), and I've seen at least one person on my flist mention it. I think he's in MN.

my bud in indianapolis said earlier this week that they were calling for snow by week's end there. eeeeeeeeee!!!!

i haven't shut the windows yet, nor turned on the heat, except a couple times just in the bathroom.

sigh. winter again.
