firespirit1 and yesod1 have generously donated the use of the land & barn to raise food for the local food pantry, and last year's crop was on the small side, so we want to ensure lots of folks get fed this year.

The food is raised by Community Harvest Project for the Worcester County Food Bank. Last years harvest was about 25,000 pounds of food, which was down from the 2004 figure of 39,000 pounds. The weather really played havoc with our growing season last year.

Community Harvest Project would not be able to do what it does with out volunteers. This is an organization that runs on a shoe string. If anyone is interested in volunteering, let me know by emailing me at sophia_spirit@yahoo.com.
