The Lamentations one is SO COOL. It is bizarre but the words, oh lord the words I love them. repetition of hope, and "steadfast affliction", and the yoke, and dust ... really really great imagery.
and this: “Do not believe”
a commotion entered, said, “Why do you sleep” He took the Little girl! And ordered that no one eat This is really strong, almost invective, and I like how it (seems to me) turns the scene on its head
and the line our love is commanding - wow, powerful!
these are sooo cool :D the bible is so great to erase, it has amazing words and phrases and imagery, and with something where the stories and the metaphors and images are so engraved in the minds of the eraser and the reader that you can do a lot of different, strange, powerful things with what's given to you in the text.
man I am so late I meant to comment on this when you first posted it D: sorry!be_themoonSeptember 15 2009, 15:45:50 UTC
The Bible is fantastic for erasing because it's got all this absolutely gorgeous imagery and it uses such rich words. I really like what you did with these passages - they're so pretty! I think my favorite parts have to be -She endured all that she touched, because how cool is that? enduring all that you touch is such a cool and strange picture, and a little bit unsettling too. -the yoke imposed it, the dust (yet hope). there is something so pretty about this, and like most of the rest of the erasure, just a little bit unsettling and off too, like there's something wrong with the picture. so cool! -our love is commanding. so cool! -bless their doing, bridle their hearts. that is such a cool picture. you bless their doing and then bridle their hearts? ouch!

Well thanks for commenting, first of all. I had no idea that erasure existed until I read your entries on it, and it is so awesome!
I loved creating all of those parts too! The section about the dust was like the only part where I didn't just turn the entire meaning of the passage on its head, so I'm glad you like.

Do you think I should post them to erasureathon? I wasn't sure at first, since it's not fanfic.
