I reread Howl's Moving Castle the other day and the Hatter is a lot like Howl.

Oddly enough, I just watched the movie Howl's Moving Castle last night (someone borrowed my copy a decade ago and never returned it, though I've been dying for a reread). I wonder if it inspired me more than I realized?
