Finally moved all my TrekBBS PM collection into my Yahoo account. It's actually easier to read them that way, because I filtered them into two folders - sent and received - and I can open them in separate tabs so I can flick between them and read the whole conversation as it happened. I spent an hour or so doing that tonight

I wasn't there then (and I guess I missed all the fun) but I can totally understand and empathize with what you wrote. I stumbled onto the TBBS at a bad time in MY life. I'd broken up with someone I'd thought was going to be with me for the rest of my life, my career seemed to be going nowhere, my life was ashambles, my family was distanced (by me, mostly), and my friends were... well, let's just say I realised around then who my true friends were. I tend to work things out by myself and somehow the TBBS came at a time that proved, in hindsight, cathartic and (not just because Trek has been so very close to my soul all these years) so it was a *passionate* outlet for me, as well. so I getcha, totally.

The great thing about TBBS is you never miss all the fun. I was focussing on a particular bunch of people in the Flaptains Lounge last summer in this post, because those were the PMs I was reading through today, but my latest impossible love interest wasn't even a member then, and there've been a lot of more recent friendships that are just as good.

Although I'm not sure I'll ever quite recapture that first, fine, careless rapture... :D

I remember how concerned I was when you vanished for a while, and how pleased I was when you turned up again. I don't know if I've ever mentioned that before now; this is as good a time as any.

I for sure remember the mass avatar change, since I was one of the ringleaders of it...
I even still have the two avatars that we used on my server.. LOL

I think we used this one to just confuse people
