I don't think it's just your pissy mood. It feel flat for me, too. And killing (or almost killing) Rory at this point does not work as a suspense-builder. It just doesn't. Even if the previous ep kinda-sorta got away with it, just for the sheer WTF factor.

At this point it's like trying to illicit a reaction by threatening baby kittens. Enough, guys. And I honestly think that's part of what was bugging me about this epp - it felt forced. Or half-assed. It felt like it came out of a Doctor-Who episode making program without having been vetted by a human. ...I dunno I'm still having trouble pinning it down.

Really? Huh. Because through odd coincidence I just watched that earlier the same day and that didn't fall flat for me at all. It's by far the weakest of the three, but goodness, that's just due to how extrodanarily awesome the first and third are.

Amy was great as a pirate though: "Yay, fun: sword play and swinging on ropes!"

Yeah, Amy really is the best part of that ep.

Not only didn't I dig this last ep, it gave me weird dreams! Although... I didn't mind seeing Rory without his shirt on. God, I feel so dirty. I'm sure I am old enough to be his mommy but he totally has this adorable factor about him. I keep thinking he'd have made the best doctor ever. :(

I meant Doctor as in Time Lord. But... after seeing this weeks episode I am sort of digging the evolution of his character. At first he just seemed like a third wheel.
