And I think the gold cup was still in the bus, wasn't it? Si Christina got away with that, though after the treastment it had it'll no longer be worth £16m.
A load of very dodgy - even for Who! - science in this, so much that my smile and nod muscles were badly strained. But there was some lovely accurate science and history, too,
I didn't think that there weas any more dodgy science than usual. And I too loved the accurate science of mentioning a Faraday Cage. It's very rare to get any real science in the show. I liked the history too, and thery went for Athelstan, who from reading his Wiki entry was clearly an important figure even if now little known.

Still Worth its weight in gold! XD And I'm not convinced that she didn't make off with that giant chrystal te Doctor tossed on the sand - we never saw it again and I'm willing to bet Christina stuffed it in her bag.

Even for Doctor Who, being able to open a wormhole by flying around and around a planet really really fast...? That snapping noise is not the space-time continuum but my suspension of disbeleif. ;)

Oh, me too, me too! Showing thier Welsh roots, they are. XD
...because oddly, both the original Queen and the Weird Al version work here. (Kudos to the first person who gets that joke...)
*takes a second to get it, because is half asleep* *finally does, and laughs loudly* *now has the Weird Al song stuck in head* :)
So. Planet of the Dead. (Holy shit, is that ever an Old Skool title or what? I LOVE IT.)
It's such and Old Skool title that for a while I had to keep convincing myself that we didn't already have one of those. "Planet of Evil", "Library of the Dead"... Nope, no "Planet of the Dead." :)
I will now cop to being a terrific hypocrite - for as much as every time the Doctor even hinted at moping about Rose I went psychotic, now that he's getting all mysty over Donna I'm eating it up with a fucking SPOON.
A lot of people seem to be saying that. I feel pleasantly non-hypocritical, myself, for having come to the realization that I'm tired of him moping over anybody at this point. :)
Oh, loads of lovely continuity shout-outs; I think I've missed a few! Like "I stole that blue box

Lots of "Planet of.."s but odly "The Dead" has only ever been used in New Who titles; "Death" was the preferred word in Classic. (Please, DON'T ASK how I know that without looking it up)

My feeling is - he damn well SHOULD be feeling rotten about Donna - especiall GUILTY, the little bastard. There HAD to be another way!
Giant robot! :)
I mentioned that one! I said: I was particularly tickled by the Doctor getting distracted and asking which casefile was Taylor's favourite (and suggesting Robot, which as a Four & Sarah fan tickled me pink)It's hard to get a SJ

I don't need to. :) It's because of "The Seeds of Death", "The Ambassadors of Death", "City of Death", "Death to the Daleks"... (Yeah, I didn't look it up, either. :))

Oh. Well, I did mention being half-awake when I posted that comment. :)
Lee Evans really DID overdo the science geek thing. I think he wound the stereotype clock back to 1972.
We should have The Doctor report the character to The Gene Genie and his partner. (Or would that break the fabric of time and space into a multiversal implosion?)

As I said it was just short of overdone for me - because he was such a wonderful character in other ways with his good science and his standing up to the UNIT commander and just generally being awesomely competant.

....uhm, what? Oh, shit, this is a Life on Mars refernce, isn't it? *deep sigh* I need a new fucking computer, and I need it RIGHT THE FUCKING NOW. *grumble* *bitch* *whine*
Evans DID do a good job, but it did seem like his Fifth Element officer crossed with Nutty Professor (if N.P was a Brit).
And yes, that was a Life On Mars reference, and good thing the series is a short collection. Ashes to Ashes (the follow up) plans to do Series Two soon. XD
Of course, quite possible the DVDs rent out by now. If not, demand equals supply! ^_^
I'm actually thinking that I could try getting them ordered in to my local library - I've had good luck with Doctor Whos and some other TV shows there.
