First off, an introduction to the basic concept of this post:
The Breakroom: a mental construct of mine, where other mental constructs go to hang out and occasionally intrude upon my conciousness with snide remarks. Basicly, my head is full of semi-autonimous 'people', personalities, corresponding to RP and fic characters of mine. Call them Muses if you like. I think of them as aspects of my personality, personified as other people. ...trust me, this is the less crazy way of putting this. Anyway they all show up in this room I imagine in my head, where they hang out, drink coffee, and snark. I've often wished I had some kind of artistic talent, because I'm sitting on webcomic gold, here.
One of these days I'll do a post introducing all the people in my head, but for now I'll let them speak for themselves, as it were...
[Zephyr] *puts her feet up on the table* So, what, when you're not 'on' you just... sit around?
[Hugo] *takes a sip of coffee* pretty much.
[Cade] *trying to dust* Uhm, could you take your feet off the table, please?
[Zephyr] *ignoring him* that's... crap.
[Cade] *a little louder* your feet. The table. Please.
[Hugo] *snorts* you're telling me.
[Arvin] *looking up from The New York Time* some of us find it a more enriching arrangment than others.
[Zephyr] Hey, I am not a 'sit on my ass' kind of girl...
[Cade] *screaming at the top of his Kobold-y little lungs* GET YOUR SODDING FEET OFF THE SODDING MYSTRA-DAMMED TABLE, YOU SODDING BULETTE-HEAD!!!
[Zephyr] *falls over backwards*
[Cade] Thank you! ^_^
[Kit Mc Dumas] Ach, ye'll have to excuse him. He's been stroppy ever since someone dropped a hoose on his sister.
[Smith] *dryly* and by 'someone' she meants Wizard of the Coast, by 'house' she means apocalypse, and by 'sister' she means homeland.
[Cade] DAMN YOU, WOTC!!!
[Kit] *SNERK*
[Stark] It's not funny, you know!
[Kit] Some of us take the apocalypse more in stride than others, is all.
[Smith] ....I hate you all.
[Zephyr] ...so, everybody here is completely psycho, is that it?
[Hugo] YES.
[Cade] NO!
[Smith] ...yes.
[Stark] I'M not!
[Kit] Pretty much, yeah.
[Arvin] *not looking up from the crossword* For a certain value of 'psycho'.
[Zephyr] ...unfortunately, I think I fit right in.
[Liza] You got that right, sister.
[Zephyr] WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT??
[Smith] *smirks* Oh, you mean the big disembodied voice?
[Arvin] Ignore her.
[Cade] We all do.
"We're all mad here," said the cat. "You're mad, I'm mad..."
"But how do you know I'm mad?" interrupted Alice, quite offended.
"You must be mad," said the cat, "otherwise you wouldn't have come here."
