Awwww, you people are freaking adorable. Thank you yes, it WAS a pretty happy birthday - especially since I now share it with the Christmas miracle baby of a very dear friend who has been trying to conceive for years now, longer than I've known her, and finally has a little wonder to show for it. I hope that your laryngitis soon clears up. The eye strain is a worry. Have you had your eyes checked fairly recently? Also is your computer screen the right distance away, correctly adjusted and optimally placed and angled to minimise reflections and glare? (Guess who once got landed with health and safety duties at work. I'm also short-sighted, which gives me ad added interest. I find tht to avoid text being hard to read I have to run at 800x600 resolution with Large Fonts enabled.)

No, I sadly haven't had the time or money.

You know, I don't think so. I'll have to look into that, since they're very big on OSHAS at work.

In the UK we have legislation that says that if someone's job involves using a computer then the employer has to pay for an eye test.

I don't know if your employers will allow it, but even a five minute break once an hour or so can help to reduce eye strain. If they won't let you leave your workstation, then just changing the distance at which you are focusing for a short while - say by looking at the wall or window behind your PC instead of at the screen, can help.

I hope you feel better soon! I hate being sick because even when you are at home and have the day to yourself, you end up just sitting there feeling like crap.

I'm glad you had a nice birthday. Sorry I didn't get to wish you a happy birthday ahead of time.

How's the con report coming along? I haven't started mine yet. I haven't had time and I won't before the 14th. I did keep a journal while I was there so all I'll have to do is type it up and post the pics. But still....

Oh, amen - I havn't worked a day this week but it sure doesn't feel like a vacation.

That's perfectly okay - I'm still amazed at the concept of folks wanting to wish me a happy birthday from miles away anyway - though it's a bit different cause we've met. :)
