Okay, so, I'm back.

Rolled into town at 9pm on Thursday... bummed around TF a bit, took care of some chores on Friday, including getting my work schedule. Get this: I am down for SEVEN seven-and-a-half hour shifts in a row, THEN I get ONE day off, then I'm back for another five. (so far. They can stick another five shifts on the end of that, or

Guh. Just finished a major cleaning chore. Whimper.

But there's Greek chicken and potatoes in the CrockPot, so supper will be delicious.

I don't suppose that you're a member of a union? Doesn't Canadian employment legislation give you any protection against working that many shifts in a row?

Well there's this cute little loophole, see, where my shifts are only considered on a per week basis - and I get paid overtime for the "sixth" day. But then the week turns over and what in reality is the seventh shift is considered the first shift - then they give me one day off, then they scheduel me for five more shifts - the last one I get overtime for, cause it's the sixth one this week. And then the week rolls over, and they could theoretically schedule me another six days after that - but at that point, yes, they're pushing legality, they will give me in all likelihood another single day off somewhere in there, and break up the six days to make them less than five days - within that week, part of six and seven day stretches in reality.

Now my head hurts. Of course, that could have something to do with the half-bottle of red wine that I've just finished. :)
