Liza's Pretty People

Mar 04, 2007 03:10

Well, looks like I'm stuck at home tonight. Sigh.

I am resorting to the usual manner of cheering myself up: A meme! (besides, saw this on my f'list the other day and REALLY want to do it.

Pseudo-tagged by di_br:

[1] - List your top 10 celebrity crushes.
[2] - Put all of them IN ORDER of your lust for them. (1 to 10, 1 being my number one fixation, or 10 to 1 if you prefer countdowns)
[3] - Say which movie/show/thing it was that hooked you.
[4] - Supply photos for said people.
[5] - Tag five people!

Oh lord.... Ten you say? Here we go....

[1] Paul Goddard

Why? Not that I don't love Hugo to bits, but Paul has one thing going over Hugo: the personal touch. Having actually experienced (virtually) first-hand what a sweet and thoughtful guy Paul is, his generosity and wickedly wonderful sense of humour - he's tops. Knowing for a fact I will never have the kind of rapport with Hugo I have with Paul means Paul has a place in my heart everybody else on this list can't quite touch.
Paul earns a place on this list in the first place for a myriad of reasons: he's adorable, he's gorgeous, charming, a very talented actor, funny as hell in interviews, unafraid of approaching his fans, and to top it all off is just as talented a jazz artist as an actor. I admire the living hell out of Paul for discovering that he could have both his dreams, and going for it. I cannot fucking stress enough that I love Coleman Smith for Coleman Smith - that the composer is in fact Paul is a bonus - a two-for-one deal. He also has some undefinable quality that makes me want to hold him down and ravish the living hell out of him.
When? Well, right from the Matrix I'd been kinda "yum" - but it was Farscape that sealed the deal. From the very first "My side!" in Nerve I was reeling that this was the same man behind Brown's shades. And then in The Hidden Memory, the speech from Stark when we learn that he's not quite the madman he seemed - oh, it was love. Pure love. Of Stark, and not very long after of the man himself.

[2] Hugo Weaving

Why? Look, I don't fucking understand how you could not find Hugo sexy. Those eyes, that voice... *sighs* Look, I can't explain it, but to me the man radiates sex. He's got the velvet voice, the piercing blue eyes, the muscular build, the smirk. Oooooh, the smirk. *THUD* No more discussing Hugo. Need Cold Shower now.
When? Well, he first caught my attention right from me seeing The Matrix, and again with Priscilla, but my out and out obsession was sparked by Matrix: Reloaded. I immediately went and did a web search on him, and - among other things - found a website where this crazy chick called tanathir had posted her fanfic. And the rest, as they say, is history. :D

[3] Virginia Hey

Why? Well, aside from the fact she's bloody gorgeous - tall, beautiful fine sculpted cheekbones, nice and firm but not HUGE boobs, fantastic skin, amazing legs, gorgeous eyes, heart-fluttering smile - she has a wonderful and bubbly personality I find irresistible. She's also deeply spiritual, and unashamed and unafraid to talk about it, something I highly admire.
When? The first time I saw her out of make-up. Hell, I was already a little in love with Zhaan, and when I saw what she looked like as a human... *THUD*

[4] Keanu Reeves

Why? 'Cause he's so pretty! And every single interview with him I've ever read/watched (and, uhm, that is a lot) makes me want to pick him up and cuddle him. Just... guh. So much cute.
When? Uhm... *blushes bright scarlet* *mumbles* Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure. And yes, I was like eight when that came out. But Keanu's been a crush to a varying degree ever since then. It spiked like gangbusters after Matrix, though.

[5] Christian Kane

Why? *points at the above picture* And he can sing, too! And he's got the smirk. Oh, lord. I also really like his style, his moxie as it were. But mostly it's about how fucking gorgeous he is, with his build and those crystal blue eyes.
When? Angel: the Series. I saw bits of season five before anything else, mostly because billietallent was trying to get me hooked on CK - and it worked! The episode that sticks out is the one where Lindsey and Angel have a sword fight on top of a giant containment unit with a demon in it, and Lindsey's shirt is half-open, and he's covered in tattoos... yeah. That did it, really.

[6] Gina Torres

Why? Everytime the woman is on screen, I sit up a little straighter in my seat. She grabs my attention. I can't take my eyes off her. It's a combination of sheer striking exotic looks, and pure force of personality. From the Matrix sequels to Firefly/Serenity to Angel to Alias, everytime she shows up, I'm so very happy to see her. Those deep eyes, that amazing hair, that skin.... I want to lick her to see if she tastes as good as she looks. S'truth.
When? True story: The first time I say Firefly, and Zoe showed up, I pointed at the screen and said "OMFG, it's Cassie! Zee's totally hot sister-in-law!" billietallent can corroborate this, she was there. Yes, I've been lusting after Ms Torres since Matrix: Reloaded.

[7] Paul Gross

Why? Blue-eyed, strong-jawed, talented, funny, musical. Canadian. What more could you ask for? I also strongly admire the guy for his vocal opinions on Canadian cinema, culture and history, and his efforts to preserve same. He's also a brilliant writer whose scripts never fail to make me crack the hell up.
When? dueSouth hit the airwaves about the same time I hit puberty. 'Nuff said. Though I didn't get really googly-moogly till Men With Brooms. It was such a different role, and he'd also written and directed it. That kind of talent gets my attention.

[8] Callum Keith Rennie

Why? Yet another blue-eyed smirker. His voice is pretty damn appealing, too. And again, I admire many of the things he's said in interviews, especially his insistence on staying and working in Canada. (Which should now have you realize exactly how many Sci-Fi shows are filmed not only up here but specifically in Vancouver. Everything you've seen him in, from X-Files to Supernatural. Yeah.)
When? Well, from the first time billietallent showed me Hard Core Logo I was thinkin' he was pretty hot, but it was RayK who sealed the deal about a year later. (Through a bizarre twist of fate, I saw DS seasons 1&2 in first run, and 3&4 years later.)

[9] Jada Pinket Smith

Why? This one is almost all about the attitude. She's just this amazing, sexy bundle of ooomph. Watching her is an unbridled joy. And yeah, she's also got the amazing skin and luminous eyes and delicious figure....
When? This one's a no-brainer: Niobe. Niobe Niobe Niobe. Honest-to-god, I bought Enter The Matrix primarily to get more Niobe. ...and 'cause I'm an obsessed Matrix freak, natch.

[10] Catherine Zeta Jones

Why? Striking classical looks, sharp, bright, and funny personality, amazing talent (including a hell of a set of pipes!), and that complexion. You can get me to see anything by telling me Catherine Zeta-Jones is in it. Seriously.
When? *points up* Mask of Zorro. I even have that exact picture as an 8x10 glossy. Though Chicago and her resulting Oscar speech were gas on the flames.

....and (in no particular order) Carrie-Anne Moss and Milla Jovovitch and Ben Browder and Elijah Wood and David Franklin and Oded Fahr and Lani Tupu and David Duchovny and Jewel Staite and Gigi Edgley and Alexander Siddig and Alan Tuduk and Ewen McGregor and Amanda Tapping and David Hewlett and Claudia Black and Will Smith and....

Oh yes! And I tag... tanathir, billietallent, computer_boy, claudiasharon, and... hrm.... astrogirl2 *evil grin*
