Sammy needs to be hit with a wet noodle or a skillet. Loved 6a.

Of course Dean wants to call the kids. I can hear the sarcastic call between Alec and Dean already which is always hillarious.

Liz, you bitch. Christ, you're amazing.

He and Dean always traveled alone. From the moment Dean started eying an old Buick in Bobby's yard when he was seventeen, prompting Dad to quietly start checking around so that Dean wouldn't have to eye up an old Buick in Bobby's yard, they'd been hitting the road as a duo, trailing behind the Sierra Grande their father finally moved on in, keys to the Impala dropped into Dean's hand the morning of his birthday like gold from Solomon's temple.

oh, God, Winchesters and the Impala and this is precisely the way it is, painted into a beautiful image. I love the way you described Sam's inevitable need to get out and breathe free air in an attempt to claim a life of his own. It kills me. Especially since it's followed by this: It seems too big, now. Funny how things work that way. Alec and Ben don't take up much space but they're the world now *diesssssss ( ... )

This is wonderful. Thanks for posting.

because Dean didn't think about those things he couldn't have. Not ever Right there you have summed up the formula for living in an F'd up situation with some degree of normality. Poor Dean.

LOVE. I adore how you handle Sam's freakout and dig into the way he works. He's a difficult character to explain, in terms of motivation, and you've nailed it here.

Sam's entire existence has shrunk to the size and dimensions of two ten-year-old boys.

Oh, my heart.

Hooray! I'm finally getting around to reading this!

I seriously have been looking forward to not being exhausted just because I knew more Lacrimosa was waiting for me. ♥
