Ha! I knew they were vamps. You had some delicious and subtle hints in part 1.
I like that Xander is confused by the fact that he's not as emotionless as he thought he would be. He should have paid attention to Spike and Angel regarding actual vampire habits instead of assuming Giles had a clue.
And I also find id suspicious that none of the slayers they've encountered have vamp-dar. Buffy didn't but she was an anomoly.
This was another vivid, exciting chapter. The tension is ramping up and even though these two are ruthless killers, I'm left anxious for them. Their ruthlessness and cunning is beautifully written, and even in their transformation you've kept them both in voice and in character.
I wonder how shocked and dismayed Vamp!Xander would be to recognize his parallels with pre-chip Spike.
