Interesting story about Fred Durst (who, IMO, sucks and is about 1% as wonderful as he thinks he is) and Staind (who rocks in direct proportion to the suckitude of Limp Bizkit).
I'm surprised not to see an appearance by that quintessential Boston band, Aerosmith! (Well, and that other one, named Boston, but they are kinda passe. Real popular when I was in college, but then, so was Europe...)
Godsmack, Powerman 5000 and Rob Zombie are all also local boys, with some decent work between them.
As for Tracy Chapman, I had no idea she was a local. Give Me One Reason is an awesome song, although I like Fast Car as well.
I totally spaced on Godsmack, which is inexcusable because I knew people who were cast in a video for them when they were on the brink of making it big.
That said, I own no Godmsack tracks. Or Rob Zombie (didn't know he was a local boy). No Powerman 5000. No Boston, either ("More than a feeeeel-innnnng!")
I do, however, have Aerosmith. The one lone MP3 of there's I have is in Part 4. All the other stuff I had of theirs was lost in my tragic cassette tape accident that haunts me still to this day. I have some good stuff on those tapes. :-(
And Heeee! On Fred Durst. It's one of those things that make you go, "The hell? Boy, bow before your betters."
As with your Xander in Africa roundup, I'm eagerly downloading this. Thank you for the hard work, something I don't have the will or inclination to do. I know I'll be enjoying your selections.

That's okay. I like Cry Cry Cry's version of 'Fall On Me' better than the original. So I guess I'll be joining you in hell.
