Yes, you're right. This is where Tina started being creepy and it just continued after that into the next episode and got even more obvious. It is really interesting to look at the difference between her crush actions and Blaine's. Also, it bothers me a bit that Brittany, who is dating Sam now, says the very insensitive thing that sets off his body image issues and it's Blaine who helps him see that he is not his body. I also find it interesting not only that they show that boys can have body issues too, but that Sam is the one with the worst body image issues when he arguably has by far the best body of all of them.

I also felt cheated at having so little of Kurt and so much of Kurt's clothes.

Do you think it was weird for Lea Michele to do these scenes about whether or not to do something topless after her own experience with Spring Awakening? I know there is a huge difference between being the original cast in a serious Broadway play and doing a meaningless student film, but those videos are on the internet...

Interesting thought on Lea's potential perspective on this issue. I do think there's quite a difference between a serious Broadway play and a student film, for sure. And I can only imagine she must have taken some serious consideration when she chose that role, too. But I don't know...

Agree on being bothered that Brittany was the one to put the bug in Sam's ear about having his body to fall back on, as though that were the only thing he could rely on. I don't think she meant it as badly as it turned out, but I think it probably played into pre-existing insecurities for Sam (which I think we saw in Season 2, maybe? Rocky Horror?).

This was a point in the season, though, that my interest started to wane. There had been a few fair-to-middling episodes in a row, and that’s almost more damning for me than having a couple of epically bad ones in between some greats. It’s that whole piece about the opposite of love not being hate, but indifference.

Exactly. I had the same issue with s4. The weird thing is that as much as I adored s3, I remember there were a few episodes/plots that had me grinding my teeth in frustration (Santana's coming out story was probably the worst, but for all the bad moments, there were far more moments of utter brilliance). But s4, in general, I'm surprisingly "meh" about, despite how adorable Blaine and Sam are, or how much I loved Kurt, Santana and Rachel in NYC. There was so much that I just didn't care about that it's kind of sapped my enthusiasm for s5.

It's funny, I actually think I liked S4 as a whole better than S3. In S4, while I had issues with it, there was at least *something* in every episode that I liked and would re-watch (even if I fast-forwarded most of the rest). My memory of S3 is that there were quite a number of episodes that I pretty much loathed in their entirety.

That said, I have never done a re-watch of S3. I wonder if my opinion would change. It might.

And I remain shamelessly hopeful for S5. Which probably means I'm going to get my heart stomped on, but oh well.

I'm probably biased about s3 because the start of s3 was when I got into Glee fandom -- as opposed to it just being a show that I liked watching on TV. So I remember loving the start of s3 and riding that high through the second half of the season.

That last paragraph is so beautiful and wise, that that is what this comment is madly pointing at and is incapable of doing much else.

(okay, how funny was Jake's reaction to the bronzing gun thingie? :D)
