Liz's Instant Glee-Cap - 5x15 - Bash

Apr 08, 2014 22:40

“Here's what you missed on Glee.” Ha. As if I've missed anything on Glee since the middle of Season 2 when I had a kid in the hospital and mostly pretended that “Comeback” didn’t exist.

Anyways, here we are. 5x15. “Bash.” Well then.
Recap of 5x15, no spoilers beyond )

episode recaps, tv: glee, season 5, bash, 5x15

Yay for sparking good conversations! Mine are still a little young for most of it, but no shortage of food for thought.

That scene with Burt and Kurt was the best. I laughed, I cried. (hello, I played football too.)
oi, yes Klaine totally needed an alone scene to talk. I guess 2 weeks in a row is too much.

i had so much secondhand embarrassment for sam at the dinner with mercedes and her friends.
samcedes and the waterfront...so cute!

and the star wars fanfic and blam! omg! so much 4th wall breakage and meta in there. love it.

I love it when Glee actually remembers things like Kurt playing football. Which is probably a backhanded compliment, but there it is.

I would really have liked even a short conversation between Kurt and Blaine in or after the hospital. Or, if not that, I think what I'm really missing is Blaine's perspective on seeing Kurt like this. Which is not to say that Blaine's is the only perspective that matters - not at all. But they're engaged. What happens to one of them affects both of them. And for crying out loud, if my husband went through something like this, you can BET it would be a big deal for ME, and vice versa.

And Sam. Oh, Sam....

I didn't see the promo, but I stumbled across some spoilers, by sheer bad luck - I was so grateful for the timing of the riot in my main fandom because it kept me from worrying too much.

I don't really have much to say yet, after my half-asleep early-morning watching, but of course Kurt would run right into that alley. He is such a Gryffindor.

Kurt is SUCH a Gryffindor. You can debate some of the other characters (Darren says Blaine is a Gryffindor/Ravenclaw, but I maintain he's a Hufflepuff), but Kurt is a Gryffindor. HANDS DOWN.

I have this half-baked fic idea (that's probably never going to get written) in which Hogwarts is McKinley and Beauxbatons is Dalton, and Blaine transfers to Hogwarts and gets Sorted into Hufflepuff, even if he might have been a Ravenclaw or Gryffindor if he'd been Sorted when he was eleven. (And in my head, Blaine points out to the Sorting Hat that he should be in one of those Houses, and the Sorting Hat laughs at him and says, "transferring here to be with your boyfriend? Tell me that's not such a Hufflepuff thing to do." Not that the other stuff isn't also in my head, but whatever. I'm too tired to make much sense.)
