Sometimes I get the feeling that the powers-that-be at Glee put huge amounts of effort into big episodes like “The Break Up,” and then the episode that follows is scattershot at best, or completely horrific at worst (I’m looking at YOU, “Night of Neglect”), because they’re all too exhausted to do anything else. “The Role You Were Born to Play” is ( Read more... )

I also can't stand episodes without Kurt. Too many of those in Season 4 - it's such a shame!

I actually liked the Wemma scenes. I thought they made some good points about marriage. And I always love Beiste, too. But now that the focus is almost entirely on the kids and not so much on the adults, the adult storylines seem out of place on the show. So there is that...

Finn standing up to Sue was awesome. That was something Will rarely ever did and when he did, he usually was incredibly immature about it. Yes, Finn says something stupid by mistake, but he actually is being way more mature about the entire interaction than Will ever was. However, he is so not qualified to lead the glee club.

Yes, the episode was pretty meh. It didn't help me that I really don't like Grease as a play, either. I even was in that play in high school, so you'd think I would have nostalgia or something, but I've always hated the message.

I agree, I think they can't decide exactly what to do with the adults on the show. They can't make them completely disappear, but they're definitely supporting characters pretty far in the background at this point, so it feels that much more strange when they get a plot point and we have to re-engage with them.
