Is this thing still on?

So, here's the thing: I don't Tweet or use Facebook or any other social media. This is essentially my only online outlet and I never really use it (because I'm a lazy bitca) unless there's fic (which I haven't written since Betty White was fertile... see above reference to laziness ( Read more... )

Oh but you're never too old to fall for Legend of the Seeker. Not when there are two deliciously femslashy ladies pretty much running the show these days. Also, it's filled with so much pretty. So so much pretty.

It's not a lack of pretty that keeps me from warming to the show, for the LOtS cast are undeniably hot. It's probably my newly diagnosed case of 'magic burnout.' I used to go "Ooh! Cool!" when someone threw a CGI lightning bolt or whacked a hapless stuntman with a power stick (agiel?) but now I'm more likely to roll my eyes. Like I said: I may be too damned old, in a sense beyond candles on my birthday cake. Sad, innit?

But, but, but... How about: ignore all the magicky stuff and just focus on the pretty? The angst for this femslash pairing just begs to be written by the master of the written word like you are.

I apologize if I come off as pushy, it's just... Fandom really needs your talent.

I envy your running ability. I ran a marathon when I was 16 and decided there would be no more of those shenanigans.

Also, should you ever get an itch to write, I doubt anyone would complain you went back to your old fandoms and tossed us a Faith/Cordelia or a WMC fic. I'm just saying.

Believe me, there's no 'ability' happening here. It's all about fear of the fat ass, baby. The fat ass is my genetic heritage, so I run hills and work the dreadmill to keep it at bay. Also, marathons are for masochists. Won't find me doing anything more than a 10K or a Pikermi.

As for the old fandoms, I'm just not feeling them anymore. I need something new that grabs my neck the way Faith or L/C used to, but I can't seem to find it these days. There's plenty of awesome femslashable shows out there, I know, but I can't find enough love for them to write fic. Baah.

Ah, as it is mine, but I tackle the jiggly butt through anything BUT running because I hate it so. Which is cowardly, I admit. ;-)I did get to a point where I was running 5 miles a day, and I was on the varsity cross country team in school but GOD I hated it.

And I know what you mean re: old fandoms. I figure it's God's way of telling me to get my ass in gear and write something original.

Heh, I wish. The thought of sorting through all that hocus-pocus still makes my head hurt. Maybe I've just had too much diet soda. :P

Fic-wise, I've been advised to steer clear of the complex sticky wickets in Seeker lore and cleave to the simpler elements (curses, bindings, wards) so I'm gonna try to do that. I am still frightened, though. (eeep!)
