I haven't watched the show for years, so I've no idea who Katherine is, but I really liked the complexity of their relationship and how off-centre events have left them. It almost makes me wish I hadn't stopped watching.
I'm an intermittent viewer, myself. Katherine's story resolution was one of Bree's finest moments (covering for another murderer), though I confess I had to crib context from the DH Wiki.
This was wonderful, simply wonderful. You have both women down to a T, and the complexity of their relationship. I'm a huge B/K shipper, so to see a fic so perfectly written, is wonderful. Adding this to my memories, for another read!
Jeepers, I gave up on this show mid-season three, but the lure of Bree was just too great, and wow, was it ever worth the return trip. Your writing is stunningly beautiful; so many turns of phrase just amazed. Honeyed folly. Whew. Gorgeous.
This was *amazing*! I've been scouring the internet for some Bree/Katherine goodness and haven't been able to find much. This was such a wonderful find. So well-written and in-character.
She's found that a dash of chaos can leaven the soul.
I really liked that line, and truthfully, so many others. Thanks for sharing this :)
Wow. Like several others, I stopped watching a long time ago, but Bree was always my favorite character, and I couldn't help loving this. Beautifully written, evocative...exquisitely, painfully apt.
I think this is my favorite line: "Bree stiffens, freezes, and melts cool again, all in a breath. As with those Ben-related pangs, her emotional processing of Katherine-related annoyance has been streamlined for efficiency." It's just so...Bree. Lovely.
Bree holds up well, huh? I couldn't care less about most of the other DH characters, but I still peek in once in a while to see what she's up to. Thanks for reading & commenting - good to know you enjoyed it. :)
