The dialogue! The dialogue! Did I mention I love the dialogue?

It's like you injected the show right in the vein with some Veronica Mars.

And I take it you find Ashe about as creepy as I do.

Oh, crap. You invoked VMars. I worship that show (and cuddle my DVDs every now and again), so that's big-time praise. Thank you.

I didn't find Ashe creepy until the attic scene, when he seemed touched and impressed that Lindsay kept an entire room in her home dedicated to his - err, make that KMN's crimes. Then he got all "You can't get rid of me that easily," and it turned a corner for me. If the show doesn't come back and I keep writing this stuff, I'm gonna have a tough time seeing him as anything but shady.

Oh no! He's not a Kyle Craig is he!? :( I hate bad FBI agents!

What better cover is there for a pattern killer? In fiction, anyways. IRL, I'm more wary of the petty tyrants (people like Dennis Rader - BTK - who was an animal control Nazi). The Ashe thing wouldn't surprise me, as KMN is likely either him or Tom (gasp!).

Awesome-laughing-out-loud moments:

former Mr. Lindsay Boxer

-

“Man, I am so glad I don’t have his job,” Lindsay declared.

Jacobi sipped his tea and muttered through the steam. “Not half as glad as the rest of us.”

-

I case you couldn't tell from the rest of this comment: I ADORED this. There'll be more, right?

Thank you! Glad I LOL'd you. And I'm still having a good time writing WMC, so we'll see how it goes.

Thanks for reading and commenting, as it's always nice to hear the story turned out okay. Joe F. is not the problem here, though - they must have told that boy to act vaguely skeezy and boy, did he, so Ashe now has my doubt & fear stuck all over him.

I liked this story a lot. The Linday/Cindy interaction as well as everyone else is really good. The FBI guy seems vageuly creepy to me but maybe we'll see something different later down the road. Very nice!

It took me a couple of stories to put it together, but now I am certain: you are Lindsay to my Cindy. I want to be just like you... when I grow up.
