Here be the promised fic rec post.
Sorry, for it being so late, to write something for each rec, I actually had to re-read the stories, of course! Quite time consuming, if no hardship ;-)
So here I hope is something for everybodies tastes, also older stuff, from when I was still bookmarking :)
This will be a work in progress. Sorry, not so much angst/h/c (except in the Post reichenbach fics) at the moment, as I am not into it and have to actively search for it.
Presume Spoilers for all eps!
Enjoy!

loveslashangst Sherlock/John
Progress and Change by
entangled_nowRating: PG-13
Pairing: John/Sherlock, pre-slash
Author's summary: John really should learn to pay attention during conversations with Sherlock.
My notes: Yes, he really should. Fun and light-hearted. John out of his depth and steamrollered by Sherlock. Just the way I like it ;-)
The Long Game by
b_c_draygonRating: 12+
Pairing: John/Sherlock
Author's summary: When Moriarty's plan to take out Sherlock and John in the swimming pool fails, John finds himself drawn into an even more complicated - and potentially deadly - game. Continuation of The Great Game, starting exactly where the episode left off.
My notes: John-centric. Moriarty plays with John this time.
God. I really don't want to be in John's shoes for this one. But it's a great adventure story which reminds me in places at geocaching.
The Paradox series by
wordstringsRating: NC-17, Warnings for Dysfunctional relationship, disturbing images
Pairing: John/Sherlock
Author's summary: Being with Sherlock is a series of shocks, but John is game for it anyhow.
My notes: Start with The Paradox suite and then go on from there. An in-depth look at the dysfunctional relationship of JOhn and Sherlock. There are several disturbing images here and one could say that Sherlock borders on the psychopathic.
But it's still beautiful and John loves him and they make it work!
Elementary by
ebonystarRating: 15/R
Pairing: John/Sherlock
Author's summary: Set after A Study In Pink; In which John and Sherlock retire to 221B Baker Street and John finds an earlier 'date' come back to the forefront of his mind; whiskey is drunk (courtesy of Mrs. Hudson) and Sherlock makes an entirely expected move - had John been anticipating it.
My notes: One of the first Sherlock/John fics I read and still one of my favourites. I love the flow of the conversation and that John soon realizes he is out of his depth. And enjoys it.
Thermodynamics Series by
entangled_nowRating: PG-13 - NC-17
Pairing: John/Sherlock
Author's summary: In which there's no heating and there's a dead owl in Sherlock's bed.
My notes: Fun and fluffy. Whenever I read about the dead owl, I have to giggle. Perfect to get warm thoughts in this weather we're having. There's supposed to be -14°C/+6°F on the weekend.
The Perils of Urban Warfare by
phantomjamRating: PG-13
Pairing: John/Sherlock
Author's summary: The problems of acclimatising to civilian life a.k.a the travails of John, his therapist and Sherlock.
My notes: John after ep1. Wonderful language and a great characteriz/sation of John.
John/Sarah/Sherlock
Lorem Ipsum Series by
saathi1013Rating: NC-17 (heed the warnings)
Pairing: John/Sarah/Sherlock
Author's summary: -
My notes: I love Sarah in this one. Yes, there are Mary Sueish tendencies to her, but all in all she's a BAMF in this one and especially her relationship to Sherlock is awesome.
Sherlock/John/Mycroft
Modern Warfare by
entangled_nowRating: Oh so very NC-17, INCEST!
Pairing: Sherlock/John/Mycroft
Author's summary:
My notes: Even if you're not into incest, give this one a go. The character study underlying the porn is more than beautiful. And the porn is beautiful, too!
Fanart for this Sherlock/John/Lestrade
Coucher Avec Moi by
halotolerantRating: NC-17
Pairing: John/Sherlock/Lestrade
Author's summary: Sherlock has a plan
My notes: And in Sherlock's head that plan makes perfect sense. Luckily John and Greg have other ideas ;-)
Beginner's Studies by
jainRating: G
Pairing: John/Sherlock/Lestrade
Author's summary: Ten life lessons that John and Lestrade teach Sherlock, and one that he teaches them.
My notes: Slices of life between the three men. Beautiful!
The Definition of a Threesome (is You, Me, and Him) by
crocodile_eat_uRating: NC-17
Pairing: John/Sherlock/Lestrade
Author's summary: Sherlock wants a threesome. Lestrade knows he should say no. But how can he?
My notes: Porn with plot. My favourite ;-)
Sherlock/Jim
One Date, Three Meals, and the End of Things. by
typhon_9Rating: PG-13
Pairing: Jim/Sherlock
Author's summary: It's two days later, when Sherlock is cleaning out the pockets of his coat and trousers, that he realizes he still has Jim Moriarty's phone number.
My notes: Yup! I can see this happening. Jim is wonderfully not-sane here.
I don't know what this is
The Anatomist by
rosa_acicularis Rating: Adult (disturbing themes, violence)
Pairing: -
Author's summary: "You’re not the only one to enjoy a good murder. There’s others out there just like you - except you’re just a man. And they’re so much more than that." Jefferson Hope, A Study in Pink
My notes: The theory (or a variation thereof) postulated in this fic was quite popular after S1. This fic though, is the very best of them.
The Goodge Street Gambit and the Controversial Non-Holmesian Principle by
definewisdomRating: G (Humo(u)or)
Pairing: -
Author's summary: Lestrade and John play a game of Mornington Crescent, Sherlock tries to work out the rules.
My notes: If you're still as clueless as Sherlock after reading the fic, look
here ( I had to, too).
But I heart the idea so much and I would SO love to play a game.
Lestrade/Molly
The Breeze Deep on the inside by
seren_ccdRating: R
Pairing: Molly/Lestrade
Author's summary: When Molly and DI Lestrade share a drink at a pub, a part of her wonders why he’s talking to her. The rest of her doesn’t care.
My notes: Not a pairing I actually see, but this is too cute to pass up.
Post Reichenbach
In love, in faith unbroken dwell by
wreathsandbellsRating: G
Pairing: -
Author's summary: There are so many things about Sherlock that he didn't know. So many things that he might never have known, if they hadn't started meeting like this.
My notes: That was one of the first Post-reichenbach fics I read. And it resonated so well with me, because it makes SO MUCH SENSE! The people Sherlock helped, KNOW he's not a fraud.
Dwindle by
hifunctioningRating: NC-17
Pairing: John/Sherlock
Author's summary: Two and a half years after the fall, Sherlock cracks. When the last remnants of him die and leave an empty shell, he goes back to the one man who can rebuild him.
My notes: Sherlock after 2 1/2 years of separation from John. And his return home.
#believeinsherlock by
tellytubby101Rating: G
Pairing: -
Author's summary: John fights the media and police for Sherlock’s sake.
My notes: John's grieving and fighting process go hand in hand. The formatting is not so easily readable, but the story is well worth it.
Disjunctive Pieces by
hope_tangRating: G
Pairing: -
Author's summary: Something isn’t right about this, about all of this.
My notes: Wonderful, wonderful look into Sally's head! I like her, still like her and this is my head!canon. Would love to see something happening along these lines in the next season.
Some Promises by
theimprobable1Rating: G
Pairing: -
Author's summary: There are things Molly Hooper can't do, not even for Sherlock Holmes.
My notes: Exactly what it says. Wonderful look into Molly's head.
Title:
The inexactitude of loss by
phantomjamRating: PG-13
Pairing: John/Sherlock
Author's summary: John, Thompson, and the therapeutic method: limping towards normality; post-Reichenbach follow-up to
The Perils of Urban Warfare, though you needn't read that first.
My notes: Since
The Perils of Urban Warfare was the last fic on my re-read list, I was happy to discover there was a follow-up post-Reichenbach.
The fic follows John's grieving process and makes it so very believable. The language is again beautiful and deep.
A guilty man by
starjenniRating: T
Pairing: -
Author's summary: Sherlock goes to Mycroft for his assistance, and they settle some scores.
My notes: I already posted the link to this as my Mycroft after Reichenbach - fixit. It still is. Wonderful Sherlock/Mycroft (no incest!) interaction and as always the author's style is exactly the way I like it!
Crossover/Fusion
The Burglarious Bibliophile by
adabsolutelyRating: PG-14
Pairing: Sherlock/John, Duncan/Methos
Author's summary:Sherlock and John take on a minor case for Mycroft, which leads them into an encounter with a pair of potential book pilferers, and the secret world of immortals and Watchers.
My notes: Crossover with Highlander. Methos and Joe as Bookthieves! Wonderful!
It takes a Dragon by
dameruthRating: G
Pairing: -
Author's summary:Darned if the Sherlock/Hobbit crossover bunnies generated by the casting of Martin Freeman as Bilbo and Ben Cumberbatch as Smaug didn't finally get me.
My notes: I remember the Silver Spoons (tm)! And the Sackville-Bagginses, hehe :) I love the idea of a lazy summer afternoon in New Zealand the Shire and John Bilbo reading to Sherlock Smaug.
Here be dragons by
emotionanalysisRating: R
Pairing: Dragon!Sherlock/Hobbit!John (Do I need to warn for bestiality? Technically it is, but the dragon is sentient, so...*shrugs*)
Author's summary:John makes a bet with his friends to go and find the rumoured dragon of the mountain - he gets a dragonful more than he bargained for.
My notes: One of the promised Dragon!Smut fics :-) The porn needs a bit getting used to admittedly, but it IS hot :) Also there is adventure and plot and middle-earth stuff as bonus!
More Dragon!Porn by Kinkmeme
Rating: NC-17
Pairing: Dragon!Sherlock/Hobbit!John (Do I need to warn for bestiality? Technically it is, but the dragon is sentient, so...*shrugs*)
Author's summary: -
My notes: More Smut! PORN!
Sleeping with dragons by
random_nexusRating: NC-17
Pairing: Dragon!Sherlock/Hobbit!John (Do I need to warn for bestiality? Technically it is, but the dragon is sentient, so...*shrugs*)
Author's summary: -
My notes: More Smut! PORN! This time with a twist!
VAMPIRE!AU
However Improbable and it's sequels by
mad_maudlinRating: G-R
Pairing: Vampire!Sherlock/Werewolf!John is you see it that way, if not friendship - or not.
Author's summary: John's been doing a little deduction.
My notes: This fic gripped me because it gives me the potential for Enemy!Slash between them, where that is so very unlikely with this pairing usually. Also the things that are not spelled out and are said between the line...
Claim of Darkness by
putigress2012Rating: NC-17
Pairing: Vampire!Sherlock/John
Warnings:vampires, touch deprivation, isolation, dubcon situations, mentions of orgasm denial
Author's summary: Vampire AU. Sherlock thinks John's blood tastes sweetest when he's crying.
My notes: I like this fic, because John isn't enthralled here, he actively resists the Vampire's charms. Also the Powerplay and the orgasm denial are huge kinks of mine, so... ;-) Sadly, this probably classifies as WIP, as there are no more parts that I could find.
