If we take Nano at its exact definition, you would have to write a complete novel in 50K in 30 days. No one actually expects us to do that. Hell, Chris knows I'm rewriting a previous NaNovel and he doesn't care. CHRIS BATY DOESN'T CARE THAT I'M CHEATING. So. Boo at them. Everyone who writes 100K or two stories or whatever is technically cheating, but whatever, the point of Nano is to SIT DOWN AND WRITE and that's all that's important, and if people are bitching about it, they've missed the damn point.

I have been not-so-patiently waiting for that icon to show up in my comment thread for the last twelve hours, because I love it and it is EXACTLY how I'm feeling right now. You have made my day!!!
If anything I would think Chris would be happy that people are adapting the realm of what NaNo is to suit their needs. You're right; the whole point is to sit down and write something. Doesn't matter how we get there. Just matters that we try. Also- those who can't win have no right to come back and be all judgy about the people who do win. We all make choices. LIGHTEN UP. (There. It's out of my system, I swear.)
Rondnoir is a dark-chocolate coating over a (hazelnut or chocolate, I can never remember) wafer, filled with dark-chocolate spread, surrounding a compacted little ball of concentrated dark-chocolate. In other words, it's a little ball of chocolatey heaven, brought to you by our friends at Ferrero. Glee!

And: I don't get it. Baty doesn't care, I'm fairly certain the moderators don't care (they've all got better things to do than hunt down people and say, no! you're cheating! bad writer, bad! no verification for you! --they just point out that technically, yes, it's not in the rules, and then they let you go and decide what's best for you!), and seriously -- this is such a you-get-out-of-it-what-you-put-in-it that I just can't really get why this needs to be an issue.
I claused my NaNo 07 Cat Story -- and frankly, I couldn't have been more proud because finally, I got further on a story than I'd ever gotten before. I won and I'm not letting anyone convince me that I didn't deserve it. 'cause .. *sings WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS*
