My dad makes his fruit salad with mayo (or salad dressing) and Cool Whip. Not too sour, not too sweet!

Isn't it interesting how we associate food with memories so strongly? I could make a list just like this--when I think of so many of my long lost friends and family, often the first things I think of are the foods they made!

For the record, when I think of you, I think of chocolate banana bread, hot chocolate, and meringue cookies! (I also think of darning socks, degree audits, and interesting conversations :-)

That's still amusing that you associate me with meringue cookies, which I have never made. Also, I'm not sure I have ever succeeded in darning socks, but I do sew up holes in socks.

Degree Audit still feels sort of like my middle name!

I could swear that you brought meringue cookies to either a D&L party or craft meet-up. I remember having a conversation about them being a tad chewy in the middle and that you figured you had not left them to rest in the oven long enough after turning off the heat. I'm sure I probably had the conversation, just not with you I guess! Memory is funny like *that* too!

Ha! I know. I must have a twin out there somewhere. Good to know!

I only remember Sheena's friend, Rehanna, making those, at a Dave and Lyn party. But I did research how to make them and could have had the knowledge to make that comment about someone else's cookies that we both ate.

And I've definitely misremembered sources of things in the same way.
