the liar site (DIY)

Remember thehungersite.com, where clicking a button would pay for a cup of rice?  I've set up a new bookmark folder ("Liars") containing Google searches.  Lovely people such as JoeWilsonforCongress.com buy sponsored links.  It's a lot more bang per click than a five-cent cup of rice, and there's no limit on clicks per day.  With dedication I think ( Read more... )

This is fantastic. How do you know the prices? And how could they possibly afford $13.63 per click? I think the internet knows I'm in England, though, and they're not going to post any Wilson ads for me.

The internet knows I'm in HK, but apparently Joe Wilson and company are too dumb to restrict their ad budget to US IP addresses. Take that, RNC.org! Go to hell, TownHall.com! Nice try, TeaPartyExpress.org! I'll be voting for your opponent, BobMcConnell.org.

Should be easy to generate a script that could help anti-donate. I'll put this idea to some of my "friends" on the internet and see what we can come up with.

Clever boy. It currently takes a bit of human work to tell the pro- and anti- links apart. For example, candidate keywords often get sponsored by both sides plus some neutral parties.

Just find a bunch of clear cut links and exploit them.

It's just like back in the days of All Advantage where my buddies and I all made around a thousand bucks from scripting their 'surf-while-banner-ads' process. We also did the big Future Shop Online Store Debacle with the 200$ and 500$ multiple gift certificates by using a script to generate new accounts that each had a small chance of winning a valuable voucher.
