DC has been immeasurable these days.  I usually carry hate in my heart for the tourists who flood the city each summer, but I've never seen people chat so amiably while crammed head-to-armpit in subway cars.  The whole world was on holiday.  Everyone was too relaxed to be cranky (except texile , who will always twitch and glare when crowded).

He didn't win you by appointing HRC to State? There's enough domestic disaster to keep Obama 200% busy, which means that HRC will be effectively President #2 on the international side. This is her chance to cast a shadow longer than Kissinger.
