Luckily, it hadn't been far too her house - not that Millie would have changed her mind, but between nerves and excitement she was trembling quite a bit. She waved the door open and the stairway lights on and smiled up at Max. "Come in?"

Max smiled slowly. "Thank you." But before he did, he pulled Millie into a quick kiss right there on the doorstep.

It was one of the traditional beginnings, after all.

There was no objection from Millie. And now that things were decided and they were at her house, everything just felt right.

No pressure, no rush, just being here with Max.

After a moment, Max's hands slid around Millie's waist. He pulled back slightly, but only so he could swep her up into his arms with a grin. "Shall we?" he asked, eyes twinkling.
