Millie's House: Saturday Night [6-5-10]

Jun 05, 2010 14:50

When Millie returned home from the clinic she set about preparing dinner and getting things ready for Max's visit. This was a definite first for her and she wasn't entirely sure if there was some sort of protocol for it.

She might be excused for referring to a novel or two for ideas on how it should be done.

[For her dinner guest.]

And at precisely 6:30pm there was a knock on the door. It was dinner, so Max had a bottle of wine. And it was a date, so he had flowers.

Millie hurried to answer the door, before remembering that the ladies in the book never rushed. So instead she stood there for a few moments before opening it. "Max," she said with a smile. "How nice to see you."

"Millie," Max returned with a smile. He held out the flowers and the wine. "I thought I'd contribute a bit myself. Hope that's okay."

"Oh my," Millie said, eyes wide as she took the wine and flowers. "Why thank you. These are beautiful!"

She breathed in the fragrance of the flowers and smiled even more. "Please, come in. Let me just put these in water."

And suddenly hoped that he didn't mind spicy food. Since it was too late to make anything else, though she supposed she could always make him a grilled cheese or something.
