LiveWidget 2.0

Sep 11, 2005 11:18

I've removed the code that spits lots of stuff to the console. There are things that can be improved, I would like to show the userpics in the widget, but that takes design time and I don't feel the inspiration at the moment. So this is it, I'll package it up and ship it out today. WhooHoo!

Hi there. I love livewidget!

However, I just noticed a problem today, when trying to post an entry whose Music included non-Roman characters ("Hâlâ Kanayan (Y. Bacanos) (Volume III Minority Composers) by Lalezâr Ensemble"). I received an invalid text encoding message, until I removed the Music field. Just FYI.

If you downloaded today then you should have received 2.0. The easiest way to tell is if there is a box on the front for choosing your Userpic and one for entering tags, they are new to 2.0.

There should be a button with the word 'Done' in the bottom right corner on the back of the widget. pressing that will flip it back so you can post your entry.

Do you have this file on your computer?

*Your_Hard_Drive*/System/Library/WidgetResources/button/genericButton.js

That file should be there in any version of 10.4 but I'd be interested to know what language and what version of the OS you're runnning.

There should also be a link for technical support on the back of the widget. If you can't see that you might have a font problem (I thought I was using fonts that every Apple user had), or if you have jjust upgraded from LiveWidget 1 you might need to restart your machine. The Os can sometimes cache the information about the size of a widget and not check it again until you restart.

LiveWidget stuck contacting LiveJournal lindalas November 4 2005, 02:16:56 UTC
I don't think this is a LiveWidget problem since my ImageShack widget has the same issue. With LiveWidget I am stuck with the spinning wheel on the back (it is getting my user info I assume). Obviously I can't actually upload a journal entry. A similar problem is going on with the ImageShack uploading widget (tries to upload but nothing happens). What should I try? I have restarted my computer but that didn't solve the problem. And yes, I can' access both sites just fine using a browser.

Are you using 10.4.3 I've heard there are troubles with it and some Dashboard Widgets.
And you're not not running a leaked version of the OS on a PC are you. I spent a little time findout that wasthje cause of someone else's errors.
