I know I'm definitely one of the people who gives him unwarranted praise at times--it's an old habit. Like when I initially stuck up for him during the West Brom match, despite his horrible performance.
But agreed that everyone needs to just be realistic about Stevie. He's not some flop or a convenient scapegoat just because he is captain; nevertheless, he's also not some deity who cannot be blasphemed.
I do think that regardless of the decision, however, he should be shown respect because of everything he's given to the club and everything he will continue to give when he's gone.
