It started when LJ introduced the new Spam setting, so it's probably all related to that one setting. As long as it's on, links (and now most images) make the comments and posts go into moderation.

There's also a "moderate if not on whitelist" setting that deals with links.

hi, do you think we could have a test run of sorts with the "spam protection" setting turned off (if that's indeed what putting everything into the moderation queue)? it seems like that might make posting a little easier for everyone...

if we're bombarded by actual spam, OK, turn it on again. but it doesn't hurt to try - it's just one setting.
