The only thing that would possibly soften the blow of moving away from Anfield is getting a new stadium with a proper name. Something from a legend or something similarly meaningful to the club, fans, and city; not just some big-money sponsor. IMO, naturally.

I'm off to cry onto my Anfield poster on my wall now.

This stadium business has been going on for so long now that I really don't care what happens. My family lived on two different streets around the stadium and we moved out 8 years ago to clear the way for expansion that never happened. It breaks my heart to see those streets rotting away like they are. It really is no wonder that Liverpool has the reputation it has with visiting football fans when they turn up to Anfield and it looks like it is in the middle of a war zone.

New stadium or not we will all still call it Anfield - just don't let them build the Hicks and Gillett design. I really don't want a permanent memorial to the fuckers.

Wow I didn't know people already moved out that long ago?! But I guess there are still many houses there, right? I heard a big issue with expanding is it might block the light to the houses around the stadium.

I hope we can just call it Anfield, even though it's not the same.

I think the city council want a new stadium because they really want us to groundshare with Everton : /
But I'm glad the owners already said they won't consider groundshare since the fans are so against it.

There is a lot of sentimentality associated with Anfield, and though I would be upset to see us leave, it's definitely in our best interests to move out. Besides the long-term financial benefits, there is also the fact that so many fans get turned away week after week because there's just not enough room to accommodate them. I think the waiting list for season tickets is now 20 years or something?

The area that surrounds Anfield is startlingly bleak as well. I would not be against a move, nor would I mind having a naming-rights partner.

Yeah we really need a bigger stadium, as we are earning way less money than Arsenal and utd every game. I would prefer something like a 70k-80k stadium if we build a new one. Although some say we might not have that many match-goers. It's tricky to find the balance, as you definitely don't want a stadium half full, on the other hand the price would probably need to rise to cover the cost.
