They make him sound like he's some sort of money-grubber, which I doubt is the case. He must have gotten a better offer somewhere else. I really hope he finds a great club where he can play more. Stupid injuries :(
I know I say this in every comment I've posted here recently, but: We don't need midfielders! Please, someone, knock some sense into Rafa.

and the rumoured from telegraph scared me
"Juventus are rumoured to be interested in signing Xabi Alonso. The Italian side believe the midfielder will become available in order to help Liverpool pay for Gareth Barry. Moreover, they think Alonso is no longer a first choice player as manager Rafa Benitez has dropped him in favour of Javier Mascherano.
